Story Concept

In the Story of „Anomaly“ we follow Charlié Facteur, a mailman who travels with his plane for his job and the world is build in a steampunk setting… Until Charlié crashes with his plane on one of his deliveries. Now stranded in the desert, he feels something hard beneath his hands like a shell or glass.

As he wipes away the sandy dust, he sees glass indeed but furthermore beneath the glass is a whole new technologically advanced world sheltered by the desert. Driven by his curiousity and the possibility of finding help because of his deserted plane he ventures down a shaft into the city. 

At first mesmerized by the world he had encountered he starts to explore the town. Though it strikes him that every person looks the same and he can’t shake of the feeling that it’s uncanny… Until he see’s the Advertising of plastic surgeries, telling the townspeople to only be perfect when they’re all symmetrical. 

Charlié soon finds the factory that works this so-called „Wonders“ and is disgusted when he looks through the Window to see the grotesque process of the surgery. And everything working on a treadmill!!! 

Being spotted as an Intruder by a worker, he now has to flee the scene and find his way out, as he’s now known as the „Anomaly“ in the system and has to be purged. A stealthy journey awaits him!

Concept for the Intro

As seen in the Headervideo, I was assigned to create an Intro for this Story/Game. Thus I chose the scene where Charlié awakes and brushes away the sand, revealing the world beneath. We had to use After Effects and an Object we created in Cinema 4D for this Intro

3D-Object Concepts

I created 2 Concepts for the 3D Object. The backpack Charlié wears and a pocketwatch that includes a compass.  

3D-Object - Watch

I decided to create the watch instead of the compass as I found it far more charming than the bag
and it would be easier to get into the frame of the planned Intro.
