Rewardbox - Animation

For a few months I was an intern at the „Playconda GmbH“ who were working on the „Idle Lemonade Tycoon“.

Before getting assigned to a position I asked whether I can give them some proof for my artistic skills and they asked me to draw a new farmer for the game. So I came up with the drawing you can see here! 

He didn’t make it into the game but they were still impressed as  I tried to emulate the artstyle of the game and they only found a few differences. 

Work in Progress Assets

The asset they asked me to create was a treasure chest, that will function as a reward box inside of the game. 

So I made a few different sketches that show different boxes. With that I tried to find out which angle is more pleasing to my superiors and which design they like more. 

I even made one experimental box, where the chest is opened up. Which was a conversation-opener for the animation. 

The Design were made have many part accentuated with lemons, as well as many shapes that should remind of the fruit nonetheless. 

After I got feedback for the sketches we decided on a frontal angle for the chest and the experimental design of #5 was a favourite among the developers, so we chose to work further on this one. 

The next step was to make sketches where the chest opens in three stages so I can use the parts and animate them in Spine. After that I made high resolution images out of the sketch and gave it textures.
